Detailed Itinerary
Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Valley
Your Marrakech To Merzouga Tour 3 Days begins with an early departure from Marrakech. We ascend the High Atlas Mountains via the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping for photos of Berber villages. We visit the iconic Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and famous film location. We continue to Ouarzazate to see the Atlas Studios ("Hollywood of Africa") before driving through the Skoura Oasis and the Valley of Roses. We arrive in the Dades Valley in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay in a Kasbah hotel.
Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi)
After breakfast, we head to the Todra Gorge, a massive fault in the plateau dividing the High Atlas from the Jbel Saghro, with 300m high cliffs. We continue through Tinjdad and Erfoud, known for its fossils. In the afternoon, we reach Merzouga. Here, the highlight of your Marrakech Desert Tours 3 Days begins: a sunset camel trek into the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. You will spend the night in a luxury desert camp, enjoying traditional Berber music, a delicious dinner, and a magical night under the stars.
Merzouga – Rissani – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast and a shower at the camp, we ride camels or take a 4x4 back to meet the driver. We begin the long journey back to Marrakech, passing through Rissani and the Draa Valley (or Alnif route depending on time). We stop for lunch in Ouarzazate before crossing the High Atlas Mountains again. We arrive back in Marrakech in the evening (approx. 7:00 PM), where your driver will drop you off at your accommodation.
